y'know...I thought I specifically checked the date because when i saw it in the feed i and thought it was the same old thread from back when people were still questioning how serious this storm was going to be...I must have looked at the commenters date and not the original. In that case...yeah...that comment definitely was wrong.
I'm thinking the commenter must have seen it in a search and thought it was current maybe? I hope so

The original post was dated 10/28, the sunday before the storm even hit. The original responder didn't post until 11/20....way out of line response. There was no ill intent of the original poster

I remember the night of hurricane sandy my friend kept posting on FB about how she "called it" that this was gonna be a BS storm and that the storm would turn last minute...she had no damage besides power and talked about how she had gone on a tour and it "wasn't bad...just a few trees down." we are only a few blocks south of her and I had to tell her to just shut her mouth and quit while she was ahead...the next day she had to eat her words. She felt so horrible!
nobody common person believed this would be as bad as it is. I wouldn't hold it against them.
had this post been made after sandy...I definitely would be up in arms about it...but after realizing it's not...the comment is uncalled for. Hopefully it was an oversight of the date.

Exactly, but in all fairness, I know a LOT of people who reply to old(er) posts and don't check the date before doing so. As out of line as her response was, if the OP had posted today, it might not have been considered *as* out of line.
Hopefully they will call a truce

I have to say that I didn't even notice the date of the original post, so at first I thought WTF. When I realized it was before the hurricane I understood and remembered this thread. At that time there were dozens of posts about the hurricane. I remember stalking them because I was scared and wanted to get an idea as to what to expect.
I think this was a misunderstanding. The op meant no harm because she posted it before the hurricane even happened.

maybe she did a search? I know I've done that plenty of times and almost commented on posts that were a few years old!!! Sometimes I don't even notice the dates. I truly think this was a misunderstanding; at least I hope it was.

just understand the comment is from someone who is displaced and or lost their home to sandy...there's a bit of emotion behind that. If I had lost everything and saw this post and mistook it for being a current post sandy comment...I'd definitely not take kindly to it. I've experienced a house fire where we lost everything and wouldn't wish it on anyone...but if i felt someone was insensitive about a situation that left me homeless...then yeah...I'd probably respond nastily.

i am displaced from this storm and watched many many homes burn to the ground, this comment was completely inappropriate, i would think as someone affected by the storm you would be more sensitive and never wish such distruction on someone,
i thought the original post was recent and thought it was funny in response to all the posts about what to do post sandy
