The first vet i saw called bayer the makers of Advantix and of course their rep said they never heard of such a thing. If you google advantix there are tons of websites where people said their dogs got really sick or died. I found this out too late. My poor sweet Mia sufferred. I am so angry and so heartbroken. The regret is killing me. I should have stood my ground and never let my husband put it on her. All i can think of is she would still be here. All day it haunts me.

Yes unfortunately I've heard many stories like this due to flea protection. I am so sorry for your loss

I put advantix on my 12 lb Brussels griffon twice in the past (2 separate occasions, not 2 months in a row) and both times she started vomiting 12 hours later. After that I never put it on her again. I've never had any issue with frontline.

I've been saying that there is something wrong with that stuff and that some dogs are too sensitive to it, but so many people use it without any ill effect and they thought it was a coincidence. The first time I thought it might be, but when it happened again I knew it wasn't.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

Thank you everyone. It has been 6 weeks since my Mia passed. I am having a hard time making peace with it all. I miss her terribly. She was so involved in my life that everywhere I turn I feel the emptiness. Hug your puppies everyday and treat them the best you can .

I'm so sorry for your loss. You did what you thought was the right thing. Please dont beat yourself up. We had to make a similar decision with our past dog buddy. He was just not getting any better with the antiseizure medication and I knew it was the right thing to do.
