Kindle Fire - Worth it?
I have an iPad that DH uses all the time, which is fine, but I just saw that the Kindle Fire is on sale today on Amazon so I was thinking about getting it for him. My question is if he doesn't read, is it worth it? Like are the the apps and web browsing comparable to the ipad, which is what he uses mine for?
Thanks!

Kindle Fire - Worth it?
I know a few people who have them who love them and use them for other things. I was thinking about getting one for DH too- even though we have an iPad, our DD has taken it over!

Kindle Fire - Worth it?
I'd love to know as well, I bought the kindle fire hd yesterday for DH bc even though we "share" our iPad, I'm on it 99% of the time, while DH uses his phone for web surfing and games/apps.

Re: Kindle Fire - Worth it?
I have both, I actually had the Kindle first and and I liked it a lot but since I got my IPad a few months ago............I haven't touched the Kindle. It's a great little tablet but honestly, the IPad is soooooo much better. If he's use to being on the IPad he might find the Fire to be a letdown. I would never want to go back.........I live on my IPad!!

Re: Kindle Fire - Worth it?
I LOVE mine and use it constantly, for me it really meets my needs. BUT... I don't own an iPad... maybe if I did, the Kindle Fire would pale in comparison.

Re: Kindle Fire - Worth it?
YES! I use it all the time for all the functions I would any other tablet. It is on the android market, so app selection is awesome.

THanks! I got it for DH. I figured for $129 it was a good deal. If he doesn't like it, I can always return it!

Re: Kindle Fire - Worth it?
i wouldn't get it again, if i am out of the hosue i can't really use the internet, anywhere i want to use it there is no wireless internet, so really i only use it in the house, for that matter i would have just gotten a regular kindle, i would rather have an ipad and download the kindle app

Kindle Fire - Worth it?
i have the iPad, my kids have taken it over, they each have an iPod as well, but like the iPad, i saw that the Fire was on sale yesterday, so i bought one for $129 and MIL bought the other one for $129 and she is giving it to the kids for Christmas.
from what i have seen the Kindle Apps look good, heard the graphics are much better, because there are no Apple restrictions to the developers.
i have "personal hotspot" so i am ok with just the wifi access for the kids. it doesnt hurt to buy.

Kindle Fire - Worth it?
Our 5 year old and 12 year old both have Kindle Fires. They love them and use them to read, play games etc to keep Mommy and Daddy sane. I use them occasionally to surf the net. It was a good buy for us.
