Recommend your groomer...
In a few weeks I'm going to be picking up an 8 week old cocker spaniel puppy. I realize that she will need to be groomed every 4-6 weeks and I really want an experienced groomer. Since she is so young I really don't want to go to someone who will hurt her, or do something that will cause her to hate getting groomed.
Please recomend your groomer..anywhere near wantagh would be appreciated. I don't mind traveling, as long as it's not too far. thanks so much

We use the groomer at Pet Smart in Levittown- Tommy and Karen are both great. My dog is half spaniel.

Re: Recommend your groomer...
Thanks..I was thinking about that one..or the other petco that just opened up in Wantagh, but are they really good? or should I find a smaller place that just caters to grooming. I've never had a dog that had to be groomed like this and I'm kind of freaking out..; )
Of course the breeder we are buying the dog from says that we should "interview" potential groomers..and find the perfect one. But I don't even know where to start. any more suggestions on groomers..how about those mobile groomers??

I personally would never use a store groomer, but many people do. Ask around, you can get some great recs on here. And the big question I always ask is, do they use cage dryers? B/c the ones that blow heated air in the cage can harm the dogs if they are not carefully watched.
