I have one, it's ok....but it's lacking something.
Can you share yours? TIA!

Re: Can you share your Ala Vodka Sauce
I will post mine for you asap, I am not near my recipe now (I should really store it on my computer!).
But just a question...do you put prosciutto or ham in your sauce? I find that it adds so much flavor. I also tweak as I go...I'll add more cream, more salt until the flavor is perfect. And you can never go wrong with extra butter, lol!

Re: Can you share your Ala Vodka Sauce
sauce
I have always used this recipe for easy vodka sauce and just add my own prosciutto or pancetta. I know i usually add more butter and onions as well and i do end up adding my own additional spices here and there until I get the right taste (garlic salt or onion salt). HTH!

Try the rachael ray "you won't be single for long vodka cream sauce". You can add prosccutto (sp?). It's easy and really yummy.

Re: Can you share your Ala Vodka Sauce
The recipe I use is actually one I found on LIF a few years ago and I've been using it ever since. My whole family can't get enough of it and FH requests it weekly!
2 -3 pieces of bacon, chopped 4 tbsp butter 1/3 cup vodka 1 1/2 cups of tomato sauce 1/2 cup of heavy cream (I usually use a tiny bit more - I go by the color) pepper to taste
Cook the bacon in butter over medium heat for several minutes. Add vodka and reduce by half. Add tomato sauce and cream. Mix well. Add pepper. Simmer uncovered for 8 - 10 minutes. Pour over penne and serve.
ETA: you can use proscuitto, however it has a very similar flavor to bacon and it's a lot more expensive. I always use bacon and it comes out great!

Re: Can you share your Ala Vodka Sauce
I don't use any butter, just olive oil and cream (which i go a bit light on- too much cream can really ruin the sauce)... also if you feel yours is lacking flavor, I use fresh garlic, black pepper and red pepper flakes in mine.
ETA: the vodka really changes the flavor too. What kind do you use? I find absolut to be the best for vodka sauce. Grey Goose is ok too, but absolut is better. I didn't think it mattered originally and used really cheap vodka... and it makes it just plain terrible!

Re: Can you share your Ala Vodka Sauce
I'm thinking I use too much cream. I think I've used GG in the past, this time I'll try Absolute.
Thank you all for the recipes!!!!
