Did your twins sleep more than singletons?

First off, i am not complaining lol. My DDs are 9 weeks. They were born at 36 weeks so not too early and were good weights. They mostly eat then sleep til their next feeding. They often fall asleep at the End of their feeding. Sometimes they wake a half hr prior and I put them in their crib to look at the mobile, crib toys or activity mat. They get cranky if i keep them up to play.

After their 7/8 pm feeding they stay up and witch almost til their next feeding. They want their pacifiers and spit them out and flip out pretty much the whole time. They don't want to be held or entertained. Just want to be left there in swings, or bouncers with their paci and doze and wake for a few hours. Then they eat and sleep 5/6 hrs, then sleep 3/4 hrs. After this you would think they would be up a bit in the morning but they sit in their swings with the mobile for a bit then go back to sleep (if they haven't already fallen asleep during feeding).

My mom keeps asking if they are doing this or that...reaching for stuff, playing with toys and they really aren't. When they are up for changing and eating they both laugh and smile at us and reach for our faces. They also coo a bit so they are interacting.

Is it just because they were early or are all 9week olds this sleepy? Again, not complaining. It's nice to be able to do chores while they sleep. Lol

Christine, if it makes you feel better, you described life with my girls EXACTLY. And they're girls, too
I've spent my days trying to get more "development" in with music, reading a story in a 'singsong' voice and doing some tummy time.

My biggest question is: How do I get the midnight feeding/then sleep to last longer than a "nap"???

They only started that last week. Before that it was every 3 hrs like clockwork. I let them stay up and witch the feeding before I want them to sleep. It just kinda worked out that this is their schedule. I think it's because they are older now they are getting closer to sttn.

I can't wait till sttn- I wish they could do it before DH goes back to work Jan 3rd. I'll take a midnight to 6am stint, no problem. Right now they still wake up at 4 then sleep from 5-10 or even 11. Wrong stretch!
