Working Out?
I normally run or do the elliptical for 2 1/2- 3 miles. Can I still do the elliptical for 2 miles? Can I still run... but for a less amount of time? I just got my BFP and dont want anything bad to happen but I also want to stay in shape while I can. TIA

Working Out?
My dr told me whatever I was doing before I can continue doing while pregnant bc my body is used to it. I did take it down a notch though

Working Out?
You should be fine, just remember to listen to your body and stay hydrated!! Don't overdo it.

Re: Working Out?
You can definitely run. Just ask your doctor for guidance on your heart rate and wear a heart rate monitor.

I ran throughout my first trimester. I now use the elliptical and walk on an incline! Keep your heart rate below 140 and you're good to go!

Re: Working Out?
You need to keep your heart rate at under 140bpm which you will find harder as your pregnancy progresses. I had some spotting early on and was told no more running, but I've been consistently doing the elliptical throughout my pregnancy.
Again, though, it's key to keep your heart rate down, so that might mean taking your workouts down a notch. And listen to your body. If you're tired or hurting - stop! No point in risking your baby's safety.

Ok good! Yea yesterday when I did elliptical I was fine... but when I got on the treadmill, I felt some light "tugging" not sure how to explain it...but as soon as I felt it, I stopped. Its def. not worth it.
Thank you everyone
I know this is going to sound crazy lol but can I still do some situps?

No! Let your baby grow. Your abdominal muscles are about to go through a lot. Give them the next 9 months off.

Re: Working Out?
Yes do it, if you have been doing it before you were pregnant. I ran a half marathon in my first trimester, no problems. With my last I was running still at 7 months. Dont go crazy with your heart rate and listen to your body. I was told it is good to push blood through the placenta by exercising. As far as sit ups, no. Planks are ok however! Try pre-natal yoga for a change!
