Surprise trip to WDW...in the 180 window any other suggestions?

Early Christmas present - my parents booked a trip to disney for all of us! Shocked bc they are not disney people but they wanted to see the girls all dressed up and meeting the princesses and minnie etc. So we are going around their birthdays!

So I had begun researching for a Nov trip Dh and I were going to book but Nov is long off so I hadn't really been in planning mode. Now we will be going in May. Staying in the princess rooms at POR.

They booked CRT for breakfast and dinner, Akershus, san angel inn, chefs de france, boatwrights, chef mickeys, and coral reef.

I am dropping coral reef and chef mickeys. Be our guest is booked solid he was told. I will keep trying for that. Was thinking of adding via napoli. We have the dining plan but may not keep it bc family prefers apps over dessert and DD's food allergies she will not be able to eat most aside from fruit. I also want to add sci fi drive in.

I think we will cancel CRT breakfast and keep the dinner. Any reason not to do that from those who have eaten there? We only want one meal there.

There is a frosted cupcake for kids there for dessert at CRT. Anyone know if it is chocolate ot vanilla? DD is allergic to chocolate. Last trip DD did not have these allergies so this will be our 1st trip with a child with food allergies. We have noted that she has allergies but they would not put the actual allergies on our ADRs.

Has anyone eaten at boatwrights? They booked it bc it was the 1st night at the hotel we can cancal if we want last minute. I have read mixed reviews.

Part of this trip is to celebrate the girls' birthdays - it was noted on our reservation - we will get them pins but anything else?

We have never done fantasmic before is it worth doing with two kids turning 4 and 6. Would you still do it if one has trouble with long lines?

Any other must do's?

Also how bad are the buses really at POR?

Boatwrights is actually really good!

Keep trying for BOG - I cancelled 2 for May just this week because the clients needed to change dates. When you do get it, mention it's the girls' birthdays and again at the restaurant so you can get some "grey stuff"!

I prefer CRT's breakfast to dinner... the food and the timing (especially before the park opens). Chocolate chip cupcake with purple frosting that you can decorate for the birthday girls - if her allergy is noted on the reservation, they'll have an alternate ready.

Why did they refuse the allergy for the ADR's? I've never heard that and I book dining every day. I'd call back and have it added.

Show the girls Fantasmic! on YouTube and see what they think. Some kids love it, it's too intense for others.

The buses aren't BAD, there are simply a lot of stops. Bring things for the kids to do and consider it part of the trip. We hand out stickers to other kids - they love it, our Mia loves it, the other parents love it, and it passes the time. Cheap, easy, fun!

He said they just put one person has food allergies but wouldn't list them told him there was no need to ask for the chef when we are seated.. She has several and they would effect say her dessert and maybe entree choices. I will keep calling righ now they only have 825 at night for BOG which to late to sit with the girls. Will keep boatwrights if it is good then. Easy to dine at the hotel the 1st night.

So so cool!

What an AWESOME surrpise.

There's a lot you can do to make it special with in-room celebrations and other special experiences.

You can call/email in about special food requests. For most allergies they are right on top of it. They have dairy free, gluten free, etc etc.

In my experience, the chef will ALWAYS come to the table, even if it's a very simple allergy. They want to be sure and they also don't want toe server to tell you "oh you're g-free, we have this one thing". The chef will often offer to make you WHATEVER YOU WANT. I'm not kidding. They want you to be really happy with your meal, so they will go over the choices with you.

Entrees tend to be easier but it is the desserts that are hard. She is actually allergic to dairy but reacts more like she is lactose in that she can eat some things milk has been baked into in limited amounts but that means no ice cream. She is also.allergic to chocolate, strawberries, oranges and shellfish. It seems like all the desserts are chocolate, ice cream or strawberry flavored. We didn't have the easiest time onour cruise and she was really struggling so I hope this experience is better.

You have forum mail - and you'll be fine. The cruise ships are more limited in what they can/will prepare based on accommodations and the dining settings, and the Dream and the Fantasy are better than the other ships as they set aside space for allergy issues, but WDW is a dream with allergies. We book a lot of clients with special dietary needs and, when done correctly, we've not had a problem at all.

We haven't done Disney but isn't there a Babycakes NYC store there? I think every (or almost every) dessert they sell is dairy free.
