I thought they had to be done at a fire house or precinct or something.
This is the one we got - Graco® SnugRide® Platinum™ Infant Car Seat

you can do it yourself, or you can go to a hospital, firehouse, etc. Our plan is to do it and then bring it somewhere to make sure we did it right... I want to be sure we get it check. they say 90% of people don't install them correctly, even though it seems pretty straight forward. I was planning to do it about 4-5 weeks before my due date.

yeah i think we will just go to the firehouse or pct here. Shaun is paranoid about stuff like that.

Thats usually how Shaun likes to get things done... but all it means is that we will have an argument because some stupid thing that doesnt go perfectly for him... or something equally annoying for me... id rather save myself the headache and just have someone else do it and well before im giving birth lol
ETA: also it was him that told me to ask about it

The good thing is that you will be in the hospital and don't have to be there for the installation issues.
I am not going to lie I checked it over when I got in the car to take DS home!!!!

Infant Car Seat installation
If you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, Please do NOT just go to your local fire house or police precient unless they have a certified car seat installer there. If they are not certified the installation is not necessarily any better then you doing it yourself.
Check here for a certified inspector ( sorry I can't direct link from my phone)

Infant Car Seat installation
We did it about a month before my due date. DH installed it, and then I went to a car seat inspection site to have it checked. Glad i did because the place said it wasnt tight enough. She also said 90% of people dont have it installed 100% properly.

my husband did it. honestly with the infant seats its very easy, esp. the graco ones. we did it the day before DD came home from the NICU, she was 3.5 weeks old (I would've been 36w and change).
