Synagis supplier
I am hoping someone can give some advice. My nephew was born back in November at 39 weeks with Congential Diaphragmatic Hernia. As a result, his lungs were underdeveloped. My sister's insurance will cover the Synagis injection, but she has to find someone to supply the Synagis. When she called Empire BCBS, they gave her the name of a supplier, but the supplier they gave her does not supply in NY. Anyone have a similar issue, or advice? Thanks.

Re: Synagis supplier
Tell her to call Triesent. We have blue cross also & that's who supplied it to our Ped for 2 years ending just last year.
She can also call RSV connect I believe is the name which is an agency that helps you find the medicine if you are unable to get through insurance. They were extremely helpful to us when DS was receiving the shots

Re: Synagis supplier
This is information I got from another poster, Kissy331, last year that helped me tremendously.
I got in contact with RSV Connection 877-RSV-9010. They will do all they can to get you the shots. I dealt with the main person Jay (woman) over there. SHe was extremely thorough & got the job done. Some tips she gave to me to find out a way to go around the pharmacy was
1) call Empire & ask if they are self-funded or fully funded. 2) since we lived in NY, see if we could use Triesent Pharmacy under the Medical to obtain the synagis.
That is the way we ended up bypassing the pharmacy that denied us & got the medication through Triesent. One shot for DS who was a big boy was $3953.72 if we paid out of pocket but only a copay through Triesent.
We had to have the Synagis sent from our plan's mail order pharmacy (MedCo) directly to our pediatrician's office.
We paid copays every month but that is nothing compared to the actual cost of the shots.
Also, my peds office contacted the makers of Synagis directly and was able to get us some assistance that way as well. Our office has a nurse dedicated to dealing with Synagis approvals, etc.

Re: Synagis supplier
ours were sent from medco to a different pediatricians office. our office does not do that shot. We were told that very few offices actually do the shot. I dont remember who set us up with that Dr.
