Baby won't take bottle.
My dd is 4 months and is ebf. However I have been pumping and building up a stash of frozen milk. She's had a bottle probably 8-10 times as early as 3 weeks and most recently around 3.5 months with no problem each time.
About a week ago I noticed she stopped taking her avent soothie paci, so I bought one in a larger size 3plus months. She wasn't into that one either preferring to chew than suck it.
Today I went back to work for the first time and dd was with my mother, who she has spent tons of time with, mom has babysat and bottle fed her. But today dd refused the bottle and screamed. My mom got about an ounce in the am into her and by lunch time I had to come home from work to feed this hungry baby. Same thing at end of day. I had to feed her the second I got home.
What do we do??? Why now won't she take a bottle?

Re: Baby won't take bottle.
have you tried heating the bottle up. DD was a great breast feeder but is a horrible bottle eater still to this day (sorry) I found by moving to the next size nipple (size 2) and warming the bottle up to extremely warm helped a bit Good Luck

Baby won't take bottle.
Seems like she misses you. It might take some time for her to adjust. Good luck.

Re: Baby won't take bottle.
I feel your pain! I had the same issues with DS. It seemed like no matter what bottle I used he just didn't like it. In the end, we were just persistent and eventually he took it. It's a struggle for your mom but be consistent and keep giving the bottle. I did notice that if the milk was very warm he took it better. He still sometimes just plays with the nipple initially but then gets a hang of it. So sorry!

Baby won't take bottle.
This is so hard!! I feel your pain. DS was the same way. We tried a million different bottles, but in the end I don't think it mattered... what did make the difference was just time. When he first started at daycare, I would come at lunch and nurse him, then I would nurse him as soon as I picked him up. Eventually, he started taking the bottles better and I didn't need to go at lunch. Still nursed right at pick up for a long time though!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same scenerio I left dd with my mom and she is around her all the time. What I learned is that our breast is their comfort its what they know the best .My DD refused the bottle when I first came back to work what I use is the momma bottle someone posted on here about it and I thank them till this day. Also dd is now 6 months and she still waits for me to get home to be ebf'ed.
