Would you put your 4 month old to bed on tummy if they roll on their own?

DS is 4 months and rolls from his back to tummy at night for the past 2-3 weeks. Today is the first day he did it while playing on the mat.

Almost every night he rolls in his sleep and in the morning he is on his tummy.

I dont have the heart to put him to bed on his tummy but he sleeps much better that way and I need my rest.

Would you put your LO to bed on their tummy at 4 months in this situation?

My DD has been sleeping on her tummy since she was a few weeks old, now 8mos it was hard at first for us but it was the only way she would sleep and it helped her with her reflux. So IMO I would be I think it os a personal decisions.

Honestly.. no I wouldnt.
I always put my DS to bed on his back at that age, even though he could roll over. If he rolled during the night on his own I didnt move him .. but my pediatrician said always put them to bed on their back.

I would continue to put the baby on his/her back at night, if they roll over by morning, I obviously can't change that.

By about 7 months old, when putting my kids in bed, I would put them on their backs and by the time I left the room, they'd roll on their bellies and close their eyes. That's when I knew they were going to do what was comfortable for them and would be ok.

As a prior SIDS mom I never put them to sleep on their tummies(for my own piece of mind). But if they roll I let them sleep that way.

Yes. I started sleeping on her tummy really early.

I always put him down on his back, even now at 19 months. But if he rolled on his own (and he does immediately now) I just left him.

I wouldn't and never will put dd on her tummy to sleep. I will always put her on her back. I'm just starting to feel ok with her waking up on her tummy. She's 5months.

DD is 7 months and I never lay her to bed on her tummy. I put her flat on her back but she does roll over in the middle of the night. Shes been doing this since 4.5 months and sometimes face plants. It made me so nervous but ped said it was ok as long as she could roll.

Like the majority here, I put dd to bed on her back and before I even leave the room, she rolls over to her tummy... She comfy that way so I keep her that way... No sense in me turning her back over

DD has been rolling to tummy since 4 months too. I always put her down on her back, then she rolls to her side to go to sleep, then at some point to her belly. I let her sleep however she is comfy. I love seeing her little tush in the air when she sleeps on her belly!

No I wouldn't. As per all recommendations, we have always put our boys down on their backs. If they roll to their tummies, we let them stay there.

Re: Would you put your 4 month old to bed on tummy if they roll on their own?

I put ds asleep on his belly just recently. He is 8 months and staryted doing this a couple weeks ago. Although he could roll easily for a while now I didn't trust that if he was tired or disoriented that he would roll during the night when he was younger. So my answer for myself would be no at 4 months old. And trust me ds is the worst sleeper and only recently sleeping in a crib vs rnp but I was wayyyy too paranoid. Gl!
