Viral Pink Eye
Looking for some advice or encouragement. I got antibiotics on Sunday for one eye. They didn't work. It spread to both eyes. Yesterday my doctor sent me to an eye doctor because it looked so severe. Eye doctor says it's viral and has to run it's course. I can't go to work or take care of my 2yo because it is so highly contagious. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and it's going to be better but it is still pretty bad. Eye doctor gave me steroid drops to help with the swelling and itching and told me to gently wipe with a warm washcloth 3 times a day. But I can't help but clean them more often. It's gross and so frustrating. I also have cold symptoms now and feel all around lousy. Any words of wisdom?

This is going to sound weird, but cold wet tea bags helped me when I had viral pink eye! Feel better soon!

Thank you! It's not so weird since someone else already told me to try washing them out with camomilla tea. I did and it felt good but didn't really help. I will try the tea bags when I need some relief tonight. Can I ask you how long it took for your eyes to clear? I feel like I am seeing some improvement today but I wonder if it is just relief from the steroid drops. It's been 5 days.

When I had pink eye in both eyes it took so long to clear.
I know what you are saying- you wake up every morning with such hope and then you look in the mirror and you want to cry!
I would say 5-7 days for me.
It was so frustrating and painful.
Just remember to toss ALL your eye makeup after this too.
And change your pillowcases every night. He told me you can reinfect yourself with your pillowcases, towels, etc

Thanks. I'm changing and washing everything daily. It's a pain but I will do anything to get rid of this!!! I'm on day 6. Hoping to wake up happier tomorrow!!!

I was just going to suggest this...tea bags..make sure you soak in hot water..then let them cool...
