Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
And if so, did either of your twins (multiples) need to be in the NICU? I had a d&c there, but otherwise know nothing about the hospital. Also, when did you give birth? And if you took a hospital tour, when did you do that? Sorry, I've had a bad track record in the past & am a nervous wreck... TIA!

Re: Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
I delivered there. My twins were in the NICU for 10 days. The NICU was great! I never worried about them once while I was there. I loved my nurses as well. The rooms are small but I was lucky enough to not have a roommate so it was good. I gave birth Jan 2011. I did not do a hospital tour.

Re: Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
Here is a link to a comment I made last week. Also some other good Sam reviews. My good Sam comment
I had my girls in oct. I was just 36 weeks but they were size/development of 35 weekers being twins. Twin 1 went to nicu for minor breathing. Cpap first night, breathing tube the next day, feeding tube the next then bottle the next. She needed to learn the suck/swallow/breath coordination and it was a matter of maturity. Then to be released she needed to eat 45ml. She was eating 45/55 at all feedings even when I fed and she would do 38 and fall asleep. They were being obnoxious sticklers over her 1 feeding per day being only 38 and threatened us that if they released her now she would be back but in the regular ped ward which isn't clean like the nicu, etc. She has lost 25 grams one night and they scared dh into thinking it was so bad when it really wasnt. It was probably because they took her off neosure. It was really frustrating because each nurse had a different technique and some worked and some didnt. I ended up telling the nicu dr that I wasnt worried about the stupid one feeding per day where she ate 7 ml less than quota and was picking her up. She said "fine" like do what you want. Ii ended up speaking to a nurse who agreed it was a maturity thing and she would get it over the next week and they released her. And she was fine. Gained 2 lb her first month. Overall the nicu was good. A lot of great nurses. Even the ones who weren't assigned to dd would help me. (Often more than the ones who were assigned). My nephew was not at 28 wks and was there 8 yrs ago and they were great too. Oh except the one time my mom and sister went in and he was a mess. Spit up, dirty diaper, etc.
I was set to do the hospital tour and c sect. class at 30 wks but was put on bed rest at 26 so I never went. I did go to l&d twice before and they were great.

Re: Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
I had my boy/girl twins there on October 1st. I was 36 weeks 1 day. My daughter was only four pounds 8 ounces and had to stay in the nicu for 10 days. Also, her temp kept dropping a little. The nurses really were great and helpful. I remember one named Meredith that really went above and beyond making sure that we were okay and new what was going on with her. I was lucky enough to get a private room which was great because I did have a c section. Overall, I was very pleased.

Re: Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
I delivered my boy/girl twins at 36.6 weeks, they didn't need any NICU time, but the Nurses were so helpful. They even helped me feed the babies in the morning, because my husband couldn't stay overnight or be there early in the morning, because we lived so far away. I loved it there. I didn't take a hospital tour, because I was on bed rest.

Re: Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
I had my triplets there at 30 weeks. They had a 43, 45, and 63 day stay. It was a long journey but they were in good hands. MOST of the nurses were fantastic and always made me fee comfortable with leaving them there when I went home at night! The doctors were great also!

Re: Did any of you deliver @ Good Sam?
I had in May. Kate was in NICU for 5 days, but Maeve was fine.
I delivered at 36wks 4days.
Took the tour pretty early, wasn't even "showing" yet.
