Any longer day preschool recs in the Smithtown Area?
I am looking for a longer day preschool for the twins for Sept. They will be 3. Right now they go to daycare 2 days a week and a 2-hour nursery school on 2 days. I would prefer to find a longer day preschool type setting for 3 days for next year. But not at a daycare. Smithtown... will look from Kings Park - Stony Brook.

I live in the same area and had a very hard time finding a school that fit the criteria. My son ended up at a full day preschool in East Northport, but I also considered The Laurel Hill School in East Setauket.

Did you try the catholic schools? Our local catholic school is expanding their nursery program to include a five day full day option.

Best Learning center is really good and they have full day and half day classes. My sister has worked there for years.

Holy family only has the half day for 3s but they have full for 4s.
Tree of life on kp rd has 930-245 for 3s.
Best learning, I think ivy league might, and I hear great things about Step at the soccer academy on Jericho. And as a bonus they do various sports during the day!

Check out Harbor Country and I have heard good things about playgroups but I'm not sure of their hours

Thanks... Tree of life is #1 right now but thats the opposite direction I have to drive to work. I'll check the others out. Not sure about catholic since we are not religious... Dh is Methodist and they were baptized there but we don't practice religion at all.

I know it's technically a daycare, but Stony Brook has part-time preschool options now. You can choose the hours/days you want and then pay a lower rate
We looked at it last year but it was too far for us

Where is Holy Family?
Holy family is at christ the king church on Indian head rd just north of Jericho. DS goes there for kindergarten. Alot of his classmates attended pre school there and loved it.
They have an open house next Sunday... 1/27

Julie, I know a little boy who lives pretty close to you and their #2 son is a few months older than the twins. He started at Step this past October and his mom loves it. Was saying how great the teacher was and how they do soccer, baseball, gymnastics etc as part of the curriculum.

Did you look at Small Steps in Hauppauge? They are not really a daycare in the sense that they have infants. They are for kids 18 months and up and most of the pre-K kids are there 9-3. Sabrina went there for 2 years and we loved it. They are on Hoffman Lane in Hauppauge. It is in one of the wings of the Hauppauge School District administration building. Real school atmosphere.
