What credit card do you have that gives the best rewards/points? If there is an annual fee how much? Thanks!

We love our gold Amex. I use it for everything. With the points we have earned, DH and I have flown to Hawaii three times (first class each time) and gotten numerous other things. I think the annual fee on it is $150. Oh and cause its Amex, we have to pay it off each month so no big balances!

Your favorite credit card
We have Chase Freedom and Sapphire. At one pont Sapphire had better perks but for a long time it has been Freedom. They do cash back on all purchases and every three months 5% on certain things, like sept-nov will be retail stores, grocery stores dec-feb will be gas and gym me,bership etc. It is AWESOME and we make money. We use our CC for everything bc of this and pay the balance in full every month.

We have a Starwood Amex and love it - for a small annual fee we earn points that we can use towards stays at Starwood hotels anywhere. We charge most things and then pay the bill off each month to earn more points.

Yep! Same here. I just got my new iPad Mini courtesy of the reward points. They are also wonderful with protection, had our card # stolen and they removed every single charge. Like PP said, it has to be paid off each month so it helps me stay out of debt too so it's a win/win. :)

DISCOVER CARD ... much better than AMEX where you have to pay an annual membership fee.

Gold Amex and Starwood Amex (for my SPG timeshare).
I've had my gold card for over 20 years. Best card ever.

Re: Your favorite credit card
jetBlue amex - $40 bucks a year but I end up getting at least 3 round trip flights a year through the points. I use it for everything and just pay it off each month.
Amex Gold users - I never knew you had to pay that card off in full every month, how do they enforce that?

Re: Your favorite credit card
Discover, by far. No annual fee. I get 1% back on every single purchase. Every quarter there are categories that give me back 5% on those purchases. One quarter might be restaurants and movies. Another grocery stores and gas stations. Then they have the Shop Discover site that gives anywhere from 5-20% back on purchases made through their site for participating stores. I do a lot of online shopping, so this is where I make the most back. And what I like most about their Cashback program is it’s not points – it’s actual cash. I either apply it towards my balance for a specific purchase or use it on a purchase on Amazon. I think you can also have it deposited into your bank account or buy stuff on their site, but I never do. I’ve gotten so many things for free from my Cashback. We use the card for everything because of the program and pay it off every month, so it builds up really fast.

Easy - you don't pay the full balance, they suspend your charging privileges and start collection proceedings You don't get a bill with a "minimum payment due."
You can actually pay some charges over time - I think they have to be over $200 and you have to sign up for that - it's called sign and travel or something like that. We don't ever use that feature though because it helps keep a lid on our spending!

I love my discover card... I racked up a ton of cash back during the holidays. They offer 5% back on different categories throughout the year.

I have a JB Amex as well but thought you have to pay all AE cards off monthly.

After reading this thread, it turns out that JB Ames is one of the few amex cards you don't need to pay off monthly. Since I pay mine off, in full, each month, I was looking into the other amex cards, but I am not thrilled with the higher annual fee.

Jet Blue Amex... we got to ARuba and Florida for free every year.
Also, we got a Wells Fargo Visa since many places don't take Amex, including the day care LO will be going to this spring. That give us $ back towards the principal of our mortgage.

I have an Amex Blue card (you don't have to pay it off), but I really want to get the JetBlue Amex. I can't say that I have a card I really love in terms of rewards. I like my Disney Visa, but the rewards % is not that great. It does have great perks though. 0% for 6 months on vacation packages (which I don't use , so it's not big deal for me), 20% off tours and excursions, 10% off at the Disney Store, free photo ops, and advance booking of Disney promotions

Is the Amex Blue the same as the Blue Sky? That one doesn't have any annual fee, right?

Re: Your favorite credit card
We like our Starwood AMEX. We stay free at hotels for most of our domestic hotel stays using points. I think their point system is better than other hotel cards.
I also have a Toys R Us card. I don't necessarily think the rewards are great but it is nice to get the reward certificates to use towards gifts. I go to TRU frequently. I used to have a major problem with BRU's return policy when I had babies but I rarely return now at TRU so it is a non-issue.

i love my discover card...there is no annual fee which for me is key. they offer cash back on all purchases and the % varies depending on the item/time of year. they also have the shopping website which you link to the retailers and can get up to 25 cash back from your online purchases. we ordered a TV online and got back $65, we ordered a DLSR camera and got back close to $200 accessing your cash back is easy...you can request a check, they offer gift cards or you can use it to pay your bill.
