anyone 40+ trying to conceive
DH and I have decided to try for another. We have one, first pregnancy and delivery was a complete nightmare. I am somewhat terrified with so many aspects of it as I never hear much about those 40+ having children (except when it comes to "celebrities it sems) We plan on doing testing if we succeed but not only do all of the tests scare me the actual delivery does as well....anyone else?

I am not 40+ but i am not too far off either. I'm 36 and trying for baby #1. I had testing done as it is automatic through my RE. You may want to see an RE to help you with your process. I go to RSofNY. They are great. Good luck!!!

I was 38 when I had my first. Now I am 40 and going for my 2nd. DH and I met later in life. My son was born premature and spent a while in the NICU but I don't think that had anything to do with my age. Will never know why it happened. What I do know is that I love my son but don't feel complete with only 1 child, so as long as I have the go ahead we will go for #2.

I had my DS when I was 38 and will be trying for #2 shortly. I will be 40 in May.
DS was delievered at 37 weeks with zero issues and no NICU time. I think he was just in a rush cause he hasn't stopeed moving since.
I did have an amnio. Opted out of the NT scan due to false results for so many people.
FM me if you have any questions. It took us 2 years fo rhave DS and I am hoping it won't take as long for #2.
My sis also had a DS when I did and she was 41.

I'll be 40 later this year and am trying for a 2nd. Had DS just before 35 but had 2 miscarriages last year. I've been trying for about 7 months since and counting.
I conceived right away with DS but it's definitely tougher the 2nd time.
I hear there's a new blood test that can be done in place of amnio and it carries less risk of a miscarriage. Definitely ask your Dr. about that when you get to that stage.
I'm scared of the delivery as well but would rather deal with that at this point...

I'm 39 and DH & I are thinking about trying for another. Already have a 4 yr old. I'm very nervous about ttc this time around. I keep going back and forth thinking I am too old. Also, worried how it would be pregnant with a wild 4 yr old boy...lol.
