Stony Brook Child Care Services on SBU campus. They are the best! Infact, they just got voted Best of LI for 2013. They are a non-profit -the teachers and staff are really good with kids, very well trained. I love the place. You don't have to be associated with the campus to send your kids there. You can set up a tour to get an idea. SBCCSI FM if you want more info

I highly recommend the Learning experience of centereach. It's a great school. You could also check out the learning experience in stonybrook it's the same owner as centereach.

Girls, that go to Learning Experience at Centereach at what age did you give your lo there? We need to give ours when she's gonna be 12 weeks. Im just debating if she needs more homie care experience or a big center like that. We went to Learning Experience in Medford because its very close to my job, although Centereach is much closer, I am from Selden, but just as convenience Medford Location would be much more convenient. We fell in love with it. First we were leaning on homie day care, but after we went to few locations, it just didn't feel right and as clean and professional as Learning Experience.

My son was 4 months old when he started and the infant teachers are just wonderful!!! He had a few different special needs early on and they were totally on board and willing to do anything i asked of them. Feel free to ask me any questions.

If I worked FT, my DCs would go back to Stony Brook Child Care, on the univ campus. Their programs were great and I'm still friendly with the teachers (three years after leaving)

Kiddie Kampus in Medford, right across from The Learning Experience in Medford. My 4-year old daughter has been going there since 3 mos old. The is the best in the area, trust me-I'm an extremely picky mommy. Feel free to FM me if you care to.

DD went to Learning Experience Centereaxh from 6 months to 2 years. I loved it! The owner is on top of everything. DD loved it and learned a lot while she was there. And she loved her teachers.

DS started TLE centereach at 3 months old. If you have not visited that specific location, I strongly urge you too. I think you should meet the teacher in the infant room. I think that will make you feel a lot better.

I know I hear great things about this care it's just not convenient for me when going to work. Medford location is much better since I work around there.... Do you girls think they are all different

Re: Day Cares in Suffolk County. Please recommend
My oldest son started in the Centereach location in 2007 at 2 yrs old; he excelled in every program, left PRE-K reading on an almost 1st grade level and has continued to excel in school ever since (is now in 2nd grade and still reads at above grade level)
My younger son started at 12 weeks old and is currently in the Preschool program (3yrs old)- He has phonetic awareness, can write, and is very independent...
Aside from the amazing academics they have been taught social skills, manners, etiquette and are given so much love!
The program itself is amazing, but its only as good as the teachers running it...and from experience I can tell you the teachers are amazing, well trained, caring individuals!!!
Something to consider, if you live in Selden- likely your child will be with other children with in the school district... the relationships your child develops with other children will likely follow into the local school district... (I assume- mostly medford kids go to medford and therefore will all leave together to go to the medford school district)
I know each center is a franchise, and the Centereach and Stony Brook location is the same owner; however Medford is owned/operated by someone else.
Feel free to FM if you have any questions!

Agree a million percent!
DS is now 3 & has been going there since he was 3 months. He loves it there. The teachers are amazing. He has to stop at every room in the morning to say hi to all his old teachers.
Your daughter at 12 weeks would be in Ms Terry's room & she is fantastic! Truly loves the babies like they are her own.

Thanks for the info. We will check out centereach location as well. My neighbor takes her child there and so so so happy there as well. Its a little out of the way for me but I guess it sounds better. We will have to think about it. Thank you.

Girls, that take your kids to centers. Did you look into more homie day care places as well? First, we were focused on more homie environment, but now we feel like we are leaning more towards center because it just feels so so much more professional, clean, everything by the books, etc.
