Please recommend a neurologist in suffolk county: More details below
I went to see Dr. Anand in Bay Shore and hated him. Does anyone have a good doctor they can recommend? TIA
ETA: Does anyone use Dr. Anthony Adamo or Dr. Jonathan Winick?

My mother sees Dr. Pulman in Stony Brook. She really likes him.

I have seen Dr. Winick in Bay Shore. He was recommended to me by a friends dad who is a nurse so he must be pretty good. He was nice enough. He was thorough.
Good Luck.

Re: Please recommend a neurologist in suffolk county
Thanks for your suggestions everyone. As I mentioned above I went to see another neurologist last week and was very unhappy with him. My whole reason for going is that I passed out last week and hit the floor and was unconscious for at least a minute. I went to the ER and they did a CAT scan, EKG, and bloodwork and everything came back normal. I followed up with my doctor who told me to get an echocardiogram (which i did, but haven't gotten the restults of) and go see a neurologist. So I tell my story to this doctor and write away he says it sounds like I had a seizure and that he thinks I have epilepsy! I mentioned that I fainted one time like 7 years ago and he ASSUMED that I also had a seizure then. So after talking me to five minutes and doing a few basic "follow my finger" etc tests, he wanted to put me on meds ! He was so grim and didn't even mention any other possible ailments...he was just set on epilpesy. Doesn't that seem weird? He scared the crap out of me! He didn't even try to reassure me, make me feel better, or tell me anything about the disease!
SOOO...sorry so long, but I'm really looking for a "nice" doctor who will be thorough and look at all possibilities.

I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with this!
My FMIL is going through something very similar right now, but with several more "symptoms" of something that hasn't been diagnosed. She saw Dr. Anto in Smithtown a few days ago - she sent her for more tests (they were done immediately), and her appt to discuss results is Thursday. Last week, she had 2 seizures in 2 days, she is losing hair, she can't sleep, she's getting migraines, and she is having trouble seeing out of her left eye, and her left eye's vision has severely worsened since her last test (just several months ago).

My goodness! I'm so sorry for your FMIL! That is upsetting. I'm sure that they will figure out what is happening soon and get her the help that she needs

I work with Dr. Winick, I think he is a good doctor, I will bring home a list of other neurologists in the area if you want or I can talk to people I work with?
