Baby Shower Location
I know this is an often discussed topic on here but wanted your opinions.
I'm looking for a location for about 65+ people in early June, preferably in Nassau. DH's family is all coming in from out of state and I also have friends that will be traveling in, although the majority of people will be local. I'm on the higher end for budget.
I am racking my brain, trying to come up with a place. My most important criteria is good food and a lot of it. My mom is hosting and it's her thing. She also tends to be a bit on the fancier side if that makes sense and wants a catering hall, which is not a must for me.
I would really love something on the water, a great restaurant with a private room or catering hall is fine.
I'll tell you what is out for various reasons. The Carltun where I had my bridal shower. Sans Souci where I had my rehearsal dinner. Don't want to do anything on the Nautical Mile in Freeport because I grew up near there. I was thinking Inn at New Hyde Park, but I got married there and really don't want to repeat.
I looked at Villa Lomabardi's on the Bay and Sound, which I think would fit the food and water criteria but if I remember correctly those were pretty far out in Suffolk no? What are your thoughts on these places and do you think they're too far?
Please HELP! I've been going crazy doing research and feel like I am missing places or not thinking of things. I really need to book something soon.
I know this is long, so thanks for listening and please give me feedback. TIA!!!

Baby Shower Location
I had my baby shower at Westbury Manor. They did a really nice job - there was tons of food and open bar. They had a crudite table and cheese station set up when guests arrived, and I think we had some other things passed. Then it was salad, meal and dessert, which I think included cake and some pastries and or fruit. The service was great and the room was really nice. The price wasn't outrageous either.
I will let you know if I come up with anything else, but I looked at a bunch of places and didn't like any of them! The only other place I loved was the Carltun, but they wouldn't work with me on my minimum.
What about the Garden City Hotel or the Carlyle?

Re: Baby Shower Location
Check out the ball room at Harbor Links Golf Club. It's not on the water but has great views. We had my sisters shower there and it was so nice.

What about Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park. It's on the water and a beautiful hall! The staff there is wonderful! I was married there July 2011, and people are still talking about the food and the service!!!

I would suggest Capt Bills in Bayshore. I had my reherseal dinner there. They have a few different rooms.
Also for a catering hall - with GREAT FOOD...Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst. Its on the water. They have a smaller room upstairs that would fit 65+. I had my wedding inthat room and had 130.

I was going to say the Carltun (had my bridal shower there too!) but I guess that's a no/no. How about the Carlyle, at Bethpage State Park? or the Garden City Hotel?

Re: Baby Shower Location
Westbury Manor does a great job. I've been to several events there over the years and they've always been great.

Re: Baby Shower Location
Thanks so much everyone!
You've all given me some great options that I will definitely be looking into.
For those of you that suggested GCH, although I love the hotel, it's not the atmosphere I'm really looking for. Also, I did look into the Carlyle, but it seems pricey for what they give you and I feel for the $$ they charge, I could get more elsewhere.
If anyone has additional suggestions, please let me know!
