different restaurants in Valley Stream/Lynbrook/RVC area
I am interested in taking my high school students with special needs to different types of restaurants in the area to get expose them to things other than pizza and chicken fingers. So far we have done hibachi and a spanish restaurant (el Mariachi) Any other suggestions. I was thinking of a Kosher Deli (woodrow in Hewlett - any other suggestions)
a Mediterranean restaurant (ayhans in lynbrook)
Any others you can think of?

Thai, I think there are 2 in Rockville centre. Not sure if valley stream one is still open
Indian - Rockville centre
Japanese - lynbrook
Chinese - lynbrook

I am not familiar with Long Island all that much yet. But, what about the Brazilian steak houses, there is one on Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park. It's really good.
California Pizza also has done this with my FSIL's class, they have them make their own pizzas and teach them about it.

I grew up in VS, my parents are still there. They love this place on Rockaway Ave - the Chicken Coup - it's a Columbian restaurant. They finally took us all there this weekend to see what the fuss was about, and it really was great! What I imagine to be very genuine Columbian cuisine.

Chat Noir in rvc is a bit frenchy. as is Apertif in rvc. yum.
there's a peruvian place on atlantic ave in east rock -yum.
Little Fu's on Peninsula is my all time fave chinese - vegetarian spot in the lynbrook area.
