working out after NOT for a looooong time....so sore...help!!
So I used to workout regularly...jogged...even ran a half marathon 3 yrs ago....but for some reason I have been lazy and haven't worked out in months!
But the last two days I finally got motivated to start again..
I probably went too hard too fast and took an extreme conditioning class...I felt good bec I was keeping up with the rest....but today..... i AM HURTING!!!!!!!!!!
I can barely walk down stairs, I am soooo sore...Every muscle in my body is sore...i have to fall the last couple of inches on the toilet and getting on the floor to play with my 4 and 1 yr olds is like I am a 90 yr old woman!
What are some remedies so i can relieve some of the soreness AND function as a mom...I dread every trip up the stairs I have to take

Eat a banana, drink lots of water, take a Motrin if it's that bad, and stretch. You'll still be sore, but that will help.

i just took motrin - have been drinking water all day..and have done a little stretching..prob should do more...and we just ran out of bananas this morning! haha I guess 3 out of 4 aint bad! lol
thanks everyone! Wish I could workout without the pain/soreness....
def not working the legs today =(

Epsom salts bath! throw 2 cups into a nice hot bath and soak for 20-30 minutes. very relaxing too!

apparently I am a glutton for punishment too...bec I just went out for a 3.44 walk while my DS rode his bike...and I walked like a spazz the whole time! haha

I think that's good though! I worked through some soreness the other day and it ended up being good.
No one ever regrets a work out, right?

OMG
I know that feeling. The day after I started Insanity I felt like that. I could walk up stairs but not down with my heels, pure torture.
I agree about water, banana, and stretching. If I know I'm going to be walking around, I'll take 2 minutes to stretch at least my calf muscles and thighs before I get going.
Good job on getting back into it! It will get easier. Don't go more than 2 post-workout days without doing more though, and go LIGHTER this time!
