Question about Etsy

How do you use Etsy? I'm looking at little hats and things but I basically only did a search for the specfic type of hat I wanted. What is the best way to do this? Do people usually search through preferred vendors?

Are there any specific vendors you ladies recommend?

I've never used Etsy before but I'd really like to order a handmade hat once I stop feeling so paranoid

eta: if it says for an item... "Only 4 available" ... What does that mean? Aren't they custom made anyway?

I LOVE Etsy!!! I usually just type into the search bar what I am looking for and with the drop down box click on "homemade". When I find something I like I look into their "shop" and read some reviews. I always contact the shop before ordering just to see the turn around date and see how flexible they are with changing anything I want.

A lot of vendors made a few ahead to sell or they know they have enough if a particular yarn to make a certain amount.

Hi! Ive been selling on etsy for 4-1/2 years! I love it! Best way to search is "crochet hats" and make sure "handmade" is clicked on the left handside. I also check feedback and shop policies as well to get a feel for the shop.

Huggabeans Crochet used to have an etsy shop but now she does does her regular page and her hats are adorable and really reasonable!! I bought 2 from her and know her personally too. Her work is so great and excellent quality too. Have a look:
