Dishwasher odor
Our new dishwasher has a cup like piece that sits at the bottom. It has a netted material around it, my guess is to catch food particles.
We rinse everything before putting it in the dishwasher but after a while (maybe a week Or 2) i guess the particles build up and then it starts to smell... There are no big pieces its just a film on the net. Its so bad the dishes/glasses end up with an odor too.
I take the cup out and clean it (which is a bit hard to do) and soak it in vinegar.
anything else I can do?
Anyone have this issue? How often do you clean it?

Re: Dishwasher odor
I put some vinegar in a cup on the top rack and another on the bottom rack and run the dishwasher through a cycle and it definitely helps a lot.

Re: Dishwasher odor
There is a great product you can buy in a grocery or hardware store called Dishwasher Magic. Dishwasher odor is quite common and easily solved. Vinegar works also. I just wrote a post about this. See How to Remove Odors from Your Dishwasher
