Bilingual certification programs ? (Suffolk or online)
I hope I havent asked this already...
Im fluent in Italian and Spanish, have worked with many wonderful Spanish speaking families (I work as a Special Educator, for EI and Preschool age children in Suffolk county)...
although Ive gotten plenty of work over the past few years, Im being told more and more that I need that piece of paper, lol. Being bilingual is in high demand, and although Ive gotten plenty of work, there is more work which I cant be assigned, all because we need that piece of paper....... sooooo........
Does anyone know of any schools in Suffolk or online programs which offer Bilingual Certification for teachers. a quick inexpensive program would be ideal =)
lacking that piece of paper took me out of an interview pool a few yrs ago, even after chatting for a long while (in spanish) with the Director of the Bilingual Dept of that district.... rules are rules... :(
muchas gracias =)

Touro College has a bilingual certification program, I beleive it's 15 credits. They have a Bayshore campus, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Check out their website.
