I was hoping for some input regarding your experiences with the early intervention evaluation process? DD was evaluated on Sunday 2/17. We still haven’t found out whether she qualifies for services or not. I’m trying to be good and not bug them, I called once last Thursday and was told that the reports had not been turned in yet. Does it normally take this long? I don’t want to be a pest and call them again but at the same time I would really like to know one way or the other. TIA.

we knew right away without scoring that he would qualify and they had the reports by the time our IFSP meeting was, but we knew, so considering the IFSP meeting was 2 weeks away, we were ok with it

when is your IFSP? they have until about a few days before to turn in their reports. this way you get a copy before the meeting

For us the person doing the evaluation always told us. Did your evaluator say anything??

I guess maybe she will not qualify because they really didn't tell us, just that the report will take a few days. I guess that is why I expected it to be faster than two weeks. I wish I had a definite feeling one way or another but I honestly don't know. I wouldn't have had her evaluated if her pediatrician didn't recommend it. She is fine other than only having a few words at 20 months old. I'll take it as a good sign then that hopefully they think she is fine. The IFSP meeting is 3/11 so I'll hang tight till then. The Agency that evaluated your DC should tell you. I would call up the Agency again and ask. They are required to mail you the evaluations plus a summary prior to the IFSP meeting. Usually the Evaluator will go over the scores with you at the evaluation. They may not have been able to tell you if your DC qualified if the other Therapist hadn't gone in yet. If it was a core, both evaluations are needed to confirm if your DC is eligible. HTH.

I don't know about EI, but CPSE and CSE have a certain number of days (30-60?)


the same must be true with EI. You will see when you get the report there is a lot of analysis and write-ups
