Foods that give you energy

So I just recently started again to watch what i eat and find myself more tired. I'm trying to stay away from bad carbs (pizza, bagels, pasta etc) and eat more fruits and vegetables. However, I'm not really feeling satisfied and Don't have enough energy to workout. Any suggestions? What about smoothies or protein shakes? Do you think that will help? Or do I just need a little time to adjust to my new eating habitsChat Icon

I would eat eggs everyday. Also green smoothies with chia seeds will help to boost your energy. I suggest cutting out all gluten. It takes about two weeks to see a difference. I do all of the above, along with eating whole foods and I feel so much better!

Re: Foods that give you energy

I have a smoothie every morning for breakfast. I have noticed how much more energy I have since doing this and also I actually feel satisfied for a while. I make green smoothies adding almond milk, frozen fruit, bananas, dates, Kale, spinach, Chia seeds. I switch it up. Sometimes I have Kale and spinach, sometimes Kale and dates. I usually add 2 cups of greens to the smoothie.
Also if you are going to use Chia Seeds make sure you soak them in water for about 15-30 minutes before. I don't think you definetely have to do this but I read it makes it easier to digest and brings out the nutrients.
I changed my whole diet about two months ago. I always ate fairly healthy but now I wanted to cut out as much processed food as I could. I feel so much better since doing that.
When I would have a bowl of cereal in the morning I would be starving a half hour later.
If you don't want to make a smoothie try a vegtable omelet.
I think anything with veggies is a good choice.

I also wanted to add that I make sure to take a Vit D supplement every morning. This weather is horrible and so many people are Vit D deficient. This might help to boost your energy level. I also started taking Rasberry Ketones. I watched the Dr. Oz episode and decided to try it. I feel a big difference from these as well, and actually think they are helping in the weight loss department.
