Gender at 14.5 week ultrasound?
I had an ultrasound at 14.5 weeks, and the technican asked me if I wanted her to guess the gender. I said sure, and she said there's a "great chance" it's a girl. How accurate do you think that it? I know it's only a few weeks until my 18 week ultrasound, but I would love to start thinking about names!

It is not 100% But more often than not at a 14w sono the tech is right. There should be a little dangle if there's a boy and none if it is a girl. You can definitely start thinking of names, but I wouldnt start buying clothes and painting the nursery pink.

There's actually a dangle either way, but it's the angle of the dangle that determines boy or girl

My cousin was told she was having a boy at 14 weeks and when she went in for her Level II at 20 weeks, they told her that it was a girl.

i think they say if they are going by the angle of the dangle it is about 80% accurate at 12-13 weeks and goes up to about 90% accurate at 14 weeks.

Thanks!
Don't worry; I'm not buying anything yet. I am excited about my DD possibly having a sister! Plus, I already have the clothes
Of course, I'd be thrilled with a boy as well; I just want to know!
