La Fitness? Planet Fitness? NYHRC?

I am looking to join one of these gyms and was wondering if anyone is a member and can offer a review/ pro/con of any of them?

I am looking into the LA Fitness in New Hyde Park and the NYHRC in Great Neck. The Planet Fitness is a great deal but kind of far for me.

I used to belong to NYHRC in GN
it was ok - nothing amazing unless they redid it
The locker room is eh
I may rejoin bc it's the cheapest around - did you look at NYSC in Great Neck? Not sure where you park.

I go LA Fitness. It's great. The location I go to has a pool and I love how they designed the locker room/showers (at my last gym, they placed rooms so far apart). Clean, good classes and they are opening up more locations in Westbury or GC very soon.

I belonged to NYHR when I worked n the city and I think it's more expensive and they are very good too. The upside to NYHCR is that you get towels for your workout and the pool. LA Fitness doesn't give you any towels.

I used to go the NYHCR in Great Neck but the locker room and pool are so tiny compared to their Manhattan locations..and I think Great Neck is their ONLY Long Island location. Whereas LA Fitness has multiple locations which is nice.

I've been a member at la fitness for about 5 years. It's open 24 hrs during the week. The pool at night is so relaxing and it's close to home. See off they work out a deal for you if you pay for an entire year upfront. They may lower your membership fee for the following year

I belong to Planet Fitness (not the one in that area). I really like it. Big, Clean, Open 24 hours during the week and well you can't beat the price. Its notihng fancy at all but perfect for what I use it for.

I tried out a LA Fitness but was not impressed for what it was going to cost.

I don't do classes, need babysitting or swim so for me paying for all the "extras" wasn't necessary.

I would vote blink but not many open on LI.. they are up and coming and owned by the same people at NYSC i believe.
