Almost 4 and sudden changes in behavior
I posted on parenting how DS is wining a lot more. Along with demanding and being fresh. I know it's all part of growing up, but omg... It's exhausting.
On here bc he does have developmental delays along with sensory issues so he goes to the local special Ed preschool. He really is doing awesome, but suddenly just when I fully potty trained him almost two months ago it's like things changed. He wines more and he's been getting up crying like almost in a panic attack state. He gets out of it after a bit then back to sleep, but never saw it before. DH said he had that when he was younger and outgrew it. Not sure what it is. Nothing makes him happy. He was fine all through 3. Funny thing is right around the time he was potty trained he gave up his paci on his own too so I do think it's something to do with learning to self soothe another way. I know he was old to have the paci, but it was for night and helped. Now he doesn't want it at all and tougher to put to sleep or anything. Just wondering if anyone else deals with the sleep attacks. It's not every night, but maybe 5 times a week. Not always at night, but that's mostly when it comes.

Re: Almost 4 and sudden changes in behavior
Have you taken him to an ENT? My DS had to get his adnoids removed last year bc he would wake up gasping for air and crying, he seemed out of it and it would take him a bit to relax. I'd ask to check for adnoids/tonsils nd maybe sleep apnea, It might be worth a try? I know his behavior improved so much when he finally got great sleep at night. HTH!
