Three week camp session for 6 year old?
My DD has never expressed interest in camp, but a local camp is running a program this week. One of her friends was going, so she went today and loved it. She wants to go for the summer. The sessions are all day, 9-4:30 for three weeks, M-F.
She's in half day K so she's not used to a full strutured day and I'm wondering if 3 weeks is too long. Thoughts? If you sent your 5/6 year old to day camp did they go all summer? Was it too much? She's also going to do a week of art camp, which is 4 half days.

That seems like a lot IMO. Especially if you wanted to go to the beach, etc. You are committed to 3 weeks of full time camp. Unless you need the childcare, I wouldn't sign her up for that long.

my kids started 8:15-2 for 2 weeks at 5 I felt like it was just right. They would fall asleep on the ride home.
She will acclimate, especially with a friend there. It might even help her get ready for full day first grade

I hope- I did think it would be good for getting her ready for full day school.
It would be one three week session- either the last week of June into July or mid-July to the beginning of August. I wouldn't schedule anything for August so we could just veg out and relax.
