getting baby out of bed help!
Does anyone have any advice on how to get my 23 month old out of my bed, he's only been doing this a few months but actually fears his crib!

getting baby out of bed help!
this will not be a popular nor conventional answer, but when my dd was 12 months old, I went back to work for 3 months. dh got her into the habitof coming in our bed. when I finished working in december and was 9onths pregnant, I knew I needed to get her back into her bed. to do so, either dh or I will lay on the floor next to her crib and let her hold our thumb. she falls asleep and sttn. It's not ideal but it works for us.

DD has never slept in our bed but there have been many nights that she was scared of something and we had to stay in her room until she fell asleep. We have sat next to her bed, or rubber her back , etc. Maybe you can try something along these lines until he gets comfortable sleeping there.

Thank you, he was fine until about three months ago and now he freaks out. Being nine months pregnant isn't helping either I've been laying on the floor with him with blankets and pillows but when I move him in the crib it's like he sees a ghost! I love to cuddle him but with the new baby coming in three weeks I'm scared

Re: getting baby out of bed help!
I'm having the same problem with my 15 month old DD. She screams and starts shaking when we put her in the crib. I tried CIO but she cries so much that she starts to sweat and shake. I just can't do that to her so we give in and let her sleep with us. The problem now is that she takes forever to fall asleep so one of us needs to stay with her. We were thinking of putting a toddler bed in our room. Maybe your baby would feel more comfortable in a bed rather than a crib.

That's what I've been thinking about I'm just afraid he will get up in the middle of the night and go about the house. Hey it's worth a shot! Ty

do you think it's too early to switch him to a toddler bed?

I had the same issue with DS 1 when I was pregnant with DS 2. DH works certain nights and I was so tired (DS 1 was a bad sleeper overall) that I would let him sleep in our bed.
We started getting him into his crib for at least part of the night and then he started climbing out so we moved him to a toddler bed and did CIO.
He does come in occasionally in the middle of the night to our room now but, he does well for the most part.

I'm going to try the toddler bed in my room too. We will be able to hear dd if she wakes up and the door will be closed so she can't get out. I do think she's too young to freely roam her own room. We have to try something because the crib just isn't working out.

Maybe jump right into a twin bed instead of a toddler bed so DH can sleep in there with her :O)
