Re: Which Diet is better..
it might be a personal decision so for me definitely definitely WW i've lost 12 lbs this year on it and love how "normal" it is. i've basically learned to eat w/o going hog wild. my points don't corner me in at all. i eat all regular foods w/o cutting out a whole food group etc. which i could never do. i'm not a big meat eater so a protein diet wouldn't do it for me. i basically really watch what i eat monfriday and allow myself room on the weekends which has worked out so great. it's realistic and something you can follow forever. no brainer for me.

Re: Which Diet is better..
I have heard great thinks about ww and I think ww is just a much more sustainable way of living and keeping your eating habits in control. WW is more a way to live your life eating normal foods but in moderation. For me, I would rather make it a lifestyle with WW where I could still cook regular or modified meals for myself and family, than a diet where I would have to buy certain foods for an extended period of time if I wanted to keep the weight off.

Re: Which Diet is better..
I think anything that you can turn into a lifestyle change is what is best.
I'm not a fan of WW for myself personally, but know many people that it has worked fabulously for. They have made it to their goal weight and continue to follow the plan for maintenance.
I do a hybrid clean eating-paleo style of eating and its what works for me and my current goals.
So you should think about which one is going to allow you to get the physical changes you desire and allow you to maintain long term.

Re: Which Diet is better..
I agree it's personal.
I really love WW - I've done it 3 times at different phases of my life (as an unmarried girl living in the city, post-baby to lose the weight, and now, much older!), and I've always been successful and been able to maintain for years. I've lost 20 lbs since early January on the plan.
As others have said, I like that you can eat real food (as opposed to packaged food associated with a particular plan), because I enjoy cooking and dining out. But while nothing is off limits, it teaches you good nutrition and encourages healthy habits. I think it's more sustainable as a lifestyle than other restrictive plans or plans that rely too much on the packaged food.
That being said, I have friends and family members who don't like WW precisely because you can make your own food choices. They want/need something more restrictive.
I think as long as you find something that is healthy and you can be successful with, you are doing ok. But if money is a concern, I would go with WW first, since it's cheaper and so many people like it/have success with it.
