9 Month old and shoes question

My dd is 9.5 months and standing on her own. She will hold onto things and walk around. She cannot walk on her own and i dont let her stand on sidewalks or anything. But we were out at a store and I took her out of the stroller and let her stand while holding onto me...

Now should i be putting her in shoes yet? Like a softsole pair? Or is that not good for her feet?

The best is to let her walk barefoot. I would recommend getting her walking shoes for when she is out and wants to get down.

Our pediatrician said let them stay bare as long as they can. I would look into getting her a sandle or something for summer. I would hate for you to spend money on walking shoes & then she not wear them cause too hot

Barefoot for as along as possible up to 3 years, according to my ped. Then she recommended Stride Rite for when DS will be out and about.

I got DD a really cute and comfy pair of sneakers from Payless. She's been cruising and standing for a while but not walking on her own. I didn't want to spring for Stride Rites yet since she doesn't wear them often. I only put them on her if we're out at a place where I may let her down, otherwise she's still barefoot. I'm glad I waited bc we just got her first stride rites for her birthday and she's up a full size already.

I started putting a pair of roobeez on DS when he was around 11/12 months because he wanted to stand more when we were out. i got him the step 2 stride rite shoes closer to 13 months when he was walking on his own and then about 3 months later got him a hard soled pair. i try to let him go around without shoes as much as possible when at people's houses though.
