Scheduled C-section moms Question...
Did you schedule the C-section ON your due date or before?
My Dr said I can do it on my Due date if I want, I was at a different Dr. With my DD and he told me to go a week before...
What did you guys do?
1 Reason being... my mother is going to be away the week before and I kind of need her help watching DD #1, she had trip already scheduled b/4 I found out we were Prego... She wants to cancel and I would hate it if she did... I know worse case my water breaks I will have emergency c-section... but is this risky? Also... my mom is in driving distance of like 3-4 hours so if anything did happen she can drive home if need be.

I think it was 4 days before my due date. Was going to have it a week before but the doctor I wanted wasn't available and it was also around the 4th of July.

Scheduled C-section moms Question...
I was scheduled for before her due date..
She didn't wait. Came a week EARLIER than her due date. She was breech so she had to be C/S and my doc was on his first vacation in YEARS when she was born.. to figure!

I scheduled it 3 days before based on what was most convenient for me (working out schedules with my older DD, etc).

I've had one unplanned and two scheduled c-sections. The 1st one was ON my due date; the 2nd one was 5 days before.
My good friend has also had three c-sections and she didn't make it to the date of her last two...I think they were both around a week before the scheduled date. I think the worst that happened was that she had to wait around (in pain!) a bit because she had recently eaten. Everything else was fine!

Scheduled C-section moms Question...
My doctor scheduled it the week before my due date. I was due May 13 and had her May 8. I was nervous that I would go into labor before that scheduled date however my DD waited and I had a successful c-section May 8.

My dr. wanted a week before my due date. But that landed on a holiday and they don't schedule surgies on holidays so he said it would be the next day. Well that day was the day before my anniversary so I asked him if we could push it one more day so she would be born on our anniversary and he said sure. Well she must have been meant to be born on that day because I was having contractions 2 days before and by the time I got to the hospital they were fairly strong and close together.

I was scheduled a week before his due date. I got to the hospital & the nurse said "we tried to call you but your surgery has been postponed until next week, you're too early according to NYS law!" I said "no no no you're doing it today, today is his birthday" I was so Piiiiissssed! Thankfully my OB was able to use my first sono which put my Surgery 2 days earlier than the EDD.

I was scheduled for 6 days before my due date b/c DS was breech. But he didn't want to wait and came 10 days before my due date.

Both mine were scheduled exactly 1 week before the due dates. They were both breech and with DS I had been having contractions for weeks and they didn't even think I'd make it that long, I was ready to have him out!

Scheduled C-section moms Question...
Mine would have been scheduled for 1 week before due date but it fell on Friday the 13th and while I am not that superstitious the nurse at my docs appt said not a good day to schedule for so we made it for the Monday which was 4 days before my due date.

My Dr. said I could schedule it at any time from a week before my due date.
The only risk with scheduling it on or closer to your due date is obviously going into labor and having to have an unscheduled C-section.
I say, schedule whatever is the most convenient time for you.

most are on/around 39w to try to deliver before you go into labor.
mine was at 38w6 days due to other complications. Usually, it CANNOT be before 39w.

I scheduled it 6 days before my due date. We picked a day that was convenient based on DS's and DD1's schedule and when family could watch them.

I scheduled it a week before but went into labor a week before that. DS was 2 weeks early. You just never know exactly what's going to happen so plan the best you can and what's most convenient , the rest is out of your control.

My first was wasn't planned
They were concerned with DS size but I went into labor before my sono appointment.
This time around I will be scheduled and I'm going to o the week before my due date. I'm hoping to not go into labor on my own earlier  since DS was almostv2 weeks early.

Scheduled C-section moms Question...
Im the only one that was scheduled AFTER her due date I guess!! Baby was due Dec 14th and born Dec 18th. I went in and supposedly was having "strong contractions" when they hooked me up to the machine, but I wasnt feeling a thing!! The nurses kept asking me....are you SURE you dont feel that?? I was like lady, the only thing Im feeling is weird, b/c Im not feeling what Im supposed to be feeling! lol

Scheduled C-section moms Question...
I was scheduled initially for the week before my due date. My doctor feared I would go into labor and I had a really awful labor/delivery with my first. I managed to convice him to let me go an extra week early because my parents were going away.

with DS it was scheduled 7 days before
with DD she was scheduled 8 days, but she decided to come 18 days early
