Breastfeeding Support
Hi Everyone,
I am looking to have a breastfeeding support group once a month on Saturdays in Nassau County for breastfeeding moms. I'm a working mom and other groups meet during the week so I can never attend those...Arrgh! I'm not a Lactation Consultant and it's NOT a LLL meeting. Just a time for mommies and babies to come and swap stories and support one another in their journey.
My issue is I don't know of a place that I can host this. Does anyone have any places that they know of will do it for free and don't have a million restrictions? I called my local library and they were not helpful at all.
Also, would any of you out there be interested in attending if I can find a place? I'm just wondering how many people would come.
Thanks for reading!

I don't know of any places but I would definitely be interested in attending. It would be nice to hear other womens "war stories" : ) I certainly have a few of my own. Please message me the info. for the first meeting (when it's put together of course), I would love to attend.

You can reserve the meeting room/community room at Panera Bread. My DD's PTA does this rather than deal with the headache of meeting at the school, and my sister went to a few meetings of a babywearing group that met at Panera. Good luck!

Thanks so much! I didn't know they had a meeting room at Panera. I appreciate the suggestion. I will certainly look into it. Thanks again!

Do you happen to know which Panera they met at by any chance?

I was also going to suggest Panera. I've heard of some LLL meetings at Panera.
I would attend. We're 5 months in BF now; besides it's always nice to get together and meet new mom's!

Re: Breastfeeding Support
I would have LOVED this when I was breastfeeding! I actually called the hospital (Winthrop) and they offered free breastfeeding support once a week in a building on Stewart Ave. (right next to Lord & Taylor in Garden City). It was nice because there was a nurse there to answer questions, but most of the time, it was just the girls chatting and swapping stories!
