Nodules on lungs!!

I'm terrified..Dad had a ct scan for something unrelated and they found nodules. They are doing another ct scan. He has lost weight had no appetite and is anemic and everything points to an ulcer. He has had it before.

So tomorrow is an endoscopy and another scan Monday to get a closer look.

Doc says it could be something or it could be nothing.

Please pray for benign nothing..

I know many people who have had nodules, that turned out to be nothing. Hope that helps you worry just a little less.

I have 4. I nearly dropped dead when they told me...panic attack for like a week. I went and got a total of 3 opinions. I am not a smoker, so they all agree that it is scar tissue from earlier pneumonia or bronchitis.

Try not to freak out, hopefully it's the same situation with your Dad.

I hope you guys are right.

He is a former smoker but the weight loss and gastro issues are worrisome.

The endoscopy pointed toward gastritis and lots of erosion and inflammation. They took biopsies and I hope it's only as serious as h-pylori. He's so weak. I'm so worried about him.

Dad got the call to come into the doc's office tomorrow to go over test results. The office said they didn't have them back yet but by tomorrow they will. We are really really nervous and upset.

Please talk me off this ledge!

I am not a doctor, but I deal with these issues with my MIL. I also have learned some things from other friends and this is what has helped all of them.

- Have him switch to a gluten free diet. Gluten does something to the body which doesn't allow your body to absorb it properly. gluten and anemia
(They haven't decided if my MIL actually has celiac's or just an intolerance, but she is gluten free)
- Have him go to a rhumatologist. If the nodules are scar tissue, that is great but from all the stomach problems it sounds like an autoimmune decease. I say that because your immune system actually lives in your intestines and stomach.
-Keep away from red meats, the enzymes are hard to digest and also dairy. Lots of lean protein like chicken, fish and turkey. The protein helps regenerate cells which will help his body heal.
- See if he would be willing to drink green smoothies. Maybe your mom can make them or you can order pre-made ones from Blueprint. com. I haven't tried them yet, but they look great.
-Have him take good pro-biotics, that will help his stomach heal and add good bacteria back in there. Ask for ones that survive the stomach acid. Those will get to the large intestines which is what you want. The other ones wont work as efficiently.

I have nodules on my lungs - a bunch of them. I even had them biopsied and they are benign. My FIL and my cousin have them too. My cardio thoracic surgeon ( renowned from ny pres) thinks that they are very common and a lot more people have them than are aware of it.

I have nodules in my lungs and airway. I even had to have a lung biopsy at 25 years old. I have an autoimmune disease called sarcoidosis. it required steroid treatment but I only had one flare up. prayers for your dad.

They suspect lung cancer. They are doing a bunch of tests to determine what and how far along. Please say a prayer.
