Re: Anyone else scared
Posted by PennyCat
After so many years of being scared I'd never be a mom, becoming one doesn't intimidate me whatsoever - at least not yet. I'm more afraid that I should just get to that point .. make it full term or at least damn close to it ... and that the baby and I should come out of this healthy.
I believe everything will fall into place one way or another .. but any fear I have of becoming a mom 10000% pales in comparison to the fear of not getting that opportunity.
This... i inevitably got scared to give birth as well, but the reality of it was really nothing like id imagined... far less scary in reality than my imagination lol

Re: Anyone else scared
I'm scared of everything! Scared of something going wrong during labor - even though this is my second. Scared of taking care of two kids! And this might be weird but I love my son soooo much I wonder if its possible to love a second just as much?

Re: Anyone else scared
I was terrified of even being pregnant before my BFP.
Is it as bad as I thought (at least at 27w), no.
I am scared of having the baby though. Very scared. But again, I have anxiety issues and am making up a horrible scenario in my head.
Realistically I keep saying what someone else said, women have been doing this FOREVER. And if some of my friends who are more "sensitive" then me can do it... I should have no problem. Also, by that point I'm hoping that just wanting the baby out will overcome my fear of it actually happening.
(At least this is what I keep telling myself)
I'm not afraid to be a mom though and taking care of the baby. Like everything else I'll figure it out lol.

Re: Anyone else scared
I am 29w and still totally terrified that something is going to happen to my baby. I am worried about losing her, and potential health problems she might have. Even though everything has come back normal, I can't seem to shake the feeling that having this baby is just too good to be true!!!

Re: Anyone else scared
I'm definitely nervous about childbirth...mainly the hospital and being poked and all that.
I am mostly scared about how I will juggle work and the baby, i have a long commute everyday and work a good amount of hours. Also worried about how we will afford childcare especially since we just bought our first home.

Re: Anyone else scared
I wasn't scared of labor with DS #1. I was never worried about being a mom or caring for DS. Obviously it's a bit different with your own, but I spent a lot of time with babies as a teenager. I've always loved children and knew that both my DH and I would provide a loving home for our kids.
This time I am a bit more nervous b/c I am most definitely going to need a c-section. I want to be able to enjoy the moments after giving birth and not be dazed or in so much pain from surgery.
BUT ABOVE ALL I AM FREAKING OUT ABOUT HAVING A 3 YEAR OLD AND TWINS!!!! I have no idea how I am going to manage this. I EBF DS for 13 months and worry I will not be able to do the same for the twins. I worry that DS will resent the babies b/c he's been the center of everyone's lives (he's the only baby on both sides of the family). I also worry that I will not be able to provide the twins with all the fun activities and excursions that we had with DS 1. There's just no way I can do the things I am used to doing with 1 with 3.
I count my blessings every day that I have a supportive husband and family who have assured us that it will work out. I know they are going to help out as much as they can. Somehow we will modify the way we do things and make it work.
5 more weeks....
