Cord blood banking
Is anyone doing cord blood/tissue banking? I have been thinking it over wondering if its worth it. I have no family history of leukemias but it seems that now they can bank the tissue for other conditions as well. Anyway just wondering, your thoughts?
It's about $ 2000 initially with a 125 annual fee

Cord blood banking
We considered it, but given our family histories, there was nothing to us that justified the cost. If I could donate it I would. If I had a different family history, our decision would probably be different. We are happy with our choice.

we did cord tissue and cord blood. Yes, they say that the in the future they may find more ways to utilize the samples for other things too.
Even though we also don't have any family histories, that doesn't mean it can't happen, so we just wanted to have the option god forbid and didn't want to regret not having it available to us.
