word games to play

I play little games with DS during dinner and when we are in the car (I spy, 20 questions, sounds of letters, rhyming words, etc). I am getting bored with some of these little games. Any suggestions? TIA!

word games to play

Add an adjective-give him a noun and he has to add an adjective to describe it. You don't have to use those words just tell him to describe the word you are giving him.
ex: cat-fluffy cat

I don't know how old he is but maybe tongue twisters-you give him a letter and he has to make a sentence with words that start with that letter or sound.
ex: k-katie koala caught crabs with kiki the kangaroo

We do a lot of those "I'm going on a picnic" games...and then change it up with "I'm thinking of an animal", "I'm thinking of a food". Then pick a different item going through the alphabet.

I started doing a word association game with my girls. "When i say a word, tell me the FIRST thing that pops into your head!"

I shoot out some words and boy! is it fun to see what they associate them to. try it. you'll crack up inside!

my girls are 7 & 8 and my seven year old hates when i stop playing!

We get really silly with our word games...

They are sort of spontaneous.... But we pretend we are misunderstanding each other. We take turns....

So lets say DS asks me to read a book, I'll say "what? You want to meet Captain Hook????" And then he'll say "nooooo, I want to READ a BOOK" and then I say "you planted a tree on a crook???" And it gets sillier and sillier. Then he will do it to me with something I say. We wind up laughing so hard sometimes we can't even get it out!!!!
