Is IUI the next step if clomid doesn't work for me?

I started clomid while still seeing my OBGYN, but I have an appt scheduled with an RE at the end of July.

They usually start you on Clomid with iui. The most an RE will let you be on Clomid is 6 months total. Then you have to move on to different meds. Typically follistim or gonal f which are injectables. How many Clomid cycles have you had

My RE said he does three rounds with clomid. Every RE is slightly different with their protocols. Statistically speaking he said if its not going to work in 3 it probably won't, and it's time to move on with a different protocol.

However, a side effect to the clomid is thinning of the uterine lining; if that happens then you stop taking clomid and move onto something else.

I am doing three rounds of clomid, and then going to IVF.

I respond well to clomid with increased follicles, so my RE doesn't feel the need to do injections, but I'm not getting pregnant, so... if this cycle fails IVF it is.

I did 3 IUIs with Clomid before moving to IUI with injects. My RE says 3 of something and then move on.

I did 1 round of Clomid, then 1 round with Clomid and iui, then 1 round of Letrozole with iui, then 2 rounds of iui with injections and 2 rounds of ivf. I felt if it wasn't working move onto something else. Got preg with 2nd ivf.

Wow, looking at all that I did a bunch of stuff. Funny how I don't remember a lot of it and neither will you once you become preg.

I did 2 rounds of just clomid, then 2 IUIs with clomid, had laparoscopy done, now i'm on my 3rd round of IUI with injectibles. moving on to IVF next.
