Did anyone use vinyl training pants when potty training?
We are trying to toilet train ds and we went to target and bought TONS of underwear. I saw these gerber training pants and didn't buy them. But although we put down pads on the bed, the mattress and ME still got wet last night and I was wondering if these work to contain some of the leak.
I was also thinking of using them when we went out since washing stuff is NOT the most convenient thing for me.

Re: Did anyone use vinyl training pants when potty training?
haven't tried those yet... but DS is 2.5 and we're potty training him now. hes doing pretty well during the day, but as far as overnight- i'm not even worrying about that yet. I still put him in diapers overnight. I'm gonna wait until he starts waking up a little more dry to try overnight training. it takes a long time for them to physically be able to "get" that they need to wake up out of sleep to go, or to hold it for 10-12 hours.
As far as going out- I hear ya!!! I'm a SAHM, so I dread the trips to target where we're at the opposite end of the store and he says "need go potty!!" So I would say those vinyl pants would be great for that... or even just use pull ups for longer outings. (I know people say they don't help with training... but I think they can be useful on longer outings and stuff)

I used those for DS1 and DS2. they are great, I always use the training underwear underneath and the gerber vinyl on top. if DS2 pees a lot, it will leak, from the legs, but a lot of the pee stays held with in, and I just make him take it off in the bath tub. If its just a little pee, it works great.
