WW points for avacado?

Am I figuring it correctly that it would be 8 points for a whole one?

Yea, they're alot of points, but they are very good for you and very filling too!! It's better than spending it on chocolate or chips ;)

Yes! I had one today that I mashed up with some salt and lime to have with black beans. It was very filling and delicious! More points than I would have liked to use but I'm having spaghetti squash for dinner so that's nice and low in points.

I LOVE avocado!

I can be points crazy at times, so I would probably weigh the amount I had to get an exact points calculation, if I were trying to be precise (since avocados can vary in size).

But one thing I hate about having avocado is that I think a proper portion is like 1/4 an avocado. So sometimes I would love to add that to a salad or soup or sandwich, but then how to store the rest of it? They get brown and mushy so quickly. So what does everyone else do if you don't want to eat a whole one and can't get someone to split it with you!

YES lol, that's why I always end up eating the whole thing! And I agree about the sizes, they def vary. When I make it and keep it out like for a party, I just put a pit in there and it really helps it from turning brown right away. i've never tried it overnight though. I think I will. But 1/4 of an avacado is so little to me. i need at least a halfChat Icon .

I put a little lemon juice on it and completely cover with plastic wrap. I make sure it's touching all of the green flesh and it will stay until the next day.

This! Also, I cut it in half, and use the side without the pit first, keeping the pit and skin on the 2nd half actually helps it keep longer, thats how I'm able to keep mine going for awhile. I put some on my salad every night and it helps me use less dressing.

Speaking of avocados, I made a great salad yesterday-- 3 thinly sliced fennel bulbs, 1/2 red onion, an avocado, plus olive oil and lemon juice. The avocado/olive oil/lemon juice made a dressing for the fennel. DH and I split it, and I calculated it at 6 pts per serving. So good!

This exactly! I always leave the pit in, & wrap it, with it touching the green.
