When do you start interviewing them and does anyone have one in the Islip area that they love?
thanks

I plan to start researching after 30 weeks. I already asked for a couple of recommendations from fellow moms.

Re: Pediatricians
I called my PCP and asked for a referral. She said they only recommend two pediaticians. dr. Grello and Dr. Marawalla. They are both in West Islip.
I asked at 25w and after making the phone calls to the two doctors I picked one. I didn't bother to interview them.

I don't remember but I know I was in my 3rd trimester. I got the recommendation off here too. Love her (she's in Mineola though).

I have a 6-year-old nephew and my brother and SIL raved about his pediatrician. I interviewed at 24 weeks, was very happy, and we continue to be very happy with the practice. We go to Suffolk Pediatrics in West Islip.

Re: Pediatricians
I interviews one pediatrician around 28wks. She seemed nice enough but honestly, it's so hard to tell what you think of a practice until you see them interacting with your child.
I left feeling like there wasn't much of a point, honestly... but we'll see how I feel about the practice after my is here. I like that the practice is small and less than 15 mins from my house. What's most important to me is they are willing to work with me as far as the vaccine schedule and they also don't have any kids sit in the waiting room. They have 3 doctors but 10 exam rooms so if you're sick, you go immediately to a room. Apparently the only kids to wait in the waiting room are there for allergy shots.
