bronx zoo
So We may be taking the 20m twins to the zoo this week. We are coming from suffolk. Is there anything we should know?? They don't sleep in the car so we are planning on getting there when it opens and pushing them as long as we can. They usually go down for a nap at noon. .......

Don't push yourself to see the whole zoo. It's a BIG zoo. Try to look online at a map before hand to get a feel as to what they girls would want to see. Bring a lunch and wear comfortable sneakers. Have fun!

Re: bronx zoo
Also there are a few of attractions that you can bring a stroller into. I just carried my 3 mo old and had the twins walk but I brought my whole wallet in my big diaper bag. I really needed some sort of small bag for my wallet/phone or a backpack. You'll be surprised they may last longer than you think or even nap in the stroller. My twins typically won't but they did when I took them around 18 mo

Re: bronx zoo
Go to the Children's zoo early in the day. They will have a blast in there and it's less crowded early.
I recommend skipping the whole part around the African plains. The animals are very far away and hard to see for the little ones.
My DS powered through his naps both times we took him and passed out in the car on the way home.

Re: bronx zoo
Definitely avoid Wednesday as that is the "free" day and the place will be absolutely packed

Re: bronx zoo
Try to do 2 or 3 things and re evaluate your plan based on how your kids are doing.
I love children's zoo (petting area), butterfly garden, carousel, and jungle world or Madagascar. They have close animals and are close together. Congo is great too.
The 4D movie was scary for my almost 3 year old. My 1.5 year old was terrified. Would not recommend for small kids.

Re: bronx zoo
Definitely check out the Children's Zoo! It's a lot of fun! We go there every year and still haven't seen the whole zoo. Wear comfortable shoes and bring lots of bottled water.

I would just stick with the children's zoo...the rest of its huge and a lot of walking....plus for little ones they can spend a whole day exploring the children's zoo...heck my almost four year old spent a couple hours there.
