At what point does your RE release you?
As long as this bean sticks I was wondering at what point do i get released to my OB/ midwife? Also how does one know if they are considered high risk? ?
Thanks! !

I was released around 7weeks and 6 days.
Once the HB registered over 120 via sonogram.

Do you both go to the same dr? Every practice is different. At my first RE you were seen till 10 or 11wks. At my next you were released at 8wks. It's usually not enough just to see a heartbeat, they (usually) want to see that it stays strong for a few consecutive weeks.
Eta: I personally wouldn't be in a hurry to move on from the RE bc most will see you weekly till you are released. Most OBs will see you less often and you will probably not get a sono at each appointment the way you would at an RE.
About being high risk, some may argue any pregnancy conceived through ART is high risk. I am high risk for that reason, as well as my multiple losses, clotting, and immune issues. It really depends on your history and issues, as well as age.

Re: At what point does your RE release you?
Thanks not in a hurry per se more so curious. I know i am jumping the gun. I go for my second beta tomorrow. I think i may be high risk because of my age. 36 over here. I wouldn't even know what dr to choose at this poit. I am so comfortable at my RE i.will likely cry when they kick me out!

I was released at nine weeks and the heart rate went up to 172. I just went to my obgyn and bc I will be 35 at time of delivery, only by a week, i had the option to see a high risk doctor. I am having a consult around my 12 week sono and we will see what happens!!! Good luck and congrats!!!!

Re: At what point does your RE release you?
My last RE sono was at 9w. I continued going every week until 12w for blood work only. At 12w I was given the green light to graduate!

My high risk appointment is after my 12 week so we will see if anything comes from that sono.
