getting over a chemical

I had a chemical 2 weeks ago. I feel like I should be over it by now but I'm not. I have longer cycles and am still waiting to O and in the meantime keep thinking about how far along I would have been, my EDD, and various milestones. I also am kicking myself for not TTC sooner.

I feel like everywhere I go anyone I meet with a DC close in age to mine either has #2 already or is due shortly.

I feel guilty for feeling like this after having such an early loss (4.5 weeks) when so many people have it worse. It just succks though. :(

Don't feel guilty for still being upset by it.
A loss is a loss. I was and felt like a mom as soon as I saw those 2 lines. Our loss was at 6 weeks. And I just realized it was almost 6 months ago already. I'm still upset and find myself feeling down and cry when I need to.

Grieve for as long as you need. There is no right or wrong and should be no judgement.

getting over a chemical

Don't feel guilty for being upset!!!! It sucks, it royally sucks. I had a very early mc (~6/7 weeks) back on May 1st, and every time I get AF, it feels like reliving the MC. It takes time!

Re: getting over a chemical

A chemical is still a loss, and my doctor told me she counts it as a miscarriage.

You still felt the excitement of getting a positive test and everything that comes with it. Dont feel bad for your feelings like that!

Exactly! I sometimes feel silly when I talk about it bc it came and went so fast for me (5 weeks). But it still hurts and in that few days after my BFP, my whole life had already changed in my mind. And even DH's too. It's hard and I guess it just takes time to heal. I just had my first AF since and I kept on calculating in my head how far along I would be by now. Chat Icon

Re: getting over a chemical

I feel for you. I just experienced one as well and am feeling the same emotions. I want my children close in age, so I'm angry I didn't start trying earlier than this. I just never imagined I'd have to deal with this $hit again Chat Icon
