More fun type of 5K's?
I am by NO means a runner. I do love to walk and will jog intervals sometimes but I would love to do a 5 K where I could do this. I've seen some fun 5K type of events that I think would be good to ease me into it. Anyone know of any of these types of events coming up?

Turkey Trots are fun, people are normally in a good mood.

yes!
most runs with a fun/silly theme/reason are good! they are usually open minded to walkers.
runs where people dress up is another good one. if costumes are suggested, you're more likely to get a less "seriously" competitive environment.

Cool! Yea it was really fun and set up well! It was very motivating for me (I actually felt like I could have kept on going!) I was nervous at first because it was my first 5K experience but it was more fun then work. Excited to try some other ones!

Merrill Down & Dirty is in September. That was a super fun obstacle course race. You can choose from a 5 or 10k.
Spartan Races are more challenging and IMO, the best of the best. Def worth the experience and there's a super spartan in NJ in September. I'd be more than happy to help you get ready for it if you were up for it.
