Need General Surgeon Recommendations? (Belly button)
Hi can anyone recommend a good general surgeon? Specifically I have a mild hernia in my belly button since pregnancy and wanted to get it fixed. Thank you!

DH went to Suffolk Surgical Associates in Bayshore when he needed his gallbladder removed last year. He used Dr. Marc Finkelstein, I thought he was a very good surgeon.

Halpern, Shin or Khaliffe are great.

I agree regarding Dr. Halpern's group; I have known many people who have had multiple surgeries with them (myself included) with positive experiences. The nursing staff at WUH seems to regard them very highly as well, which says a lot.

I used Dr Way Lee out of Good Sam- he did my gallbladder removal and when he was doing the surgery discovered a belly button hernia that was probably from my pregnancy (i had my gallbladder out 5 weeks postpartum) that he repaired.
He did a great job and was very nice.

I'd go to a plastic surgeon. Insurance coverage could easily be the same anyway.
