HSG tomorrow - update - all done
I have my HSG tomorrow. From what I've read on here I'm pretty nervous!
At my Sono today it seems like my follies did not grow much since Sunday , but the Dr lowered my Gonal dose. I go for another Sono tomorrow.
Eta: update: I'm back home, the Dr said it seemed to be clear but she would have to look more closely. The actual procedure (which I did have to go in alone) was not bad at all!!!! I have cramping now, so I'm just laying down. Thank you for sharing all your experiences. It's good to hear the good, bad, and ugly.
Also, Dr. Has lowered my Gonal to 75 now, and I go back again tomorrow. Still have six measurable follies, of which 4 are now 12 or bigger.

Hi- I had my HSG 3 months ago. It wasn't too bad. I wouldnt say it was painful, it was more uncomfortable due to extreme pressure for about 2 minutes. I did take 2 motrin prior & had some spotting afterwards. Bring some liners just in case. They only had huge pads to offer.
My tubes were clear.

I had zero pain with mine. It really isn't that bad. I had other test that were much worse.

This was one of the tests I feared worst. All the nurses made it out to be like it would be the worst pain ever. Honestly, it was a piece of cake. There was some uncomfortable moments but nothing painful. I hope you'll have the same experience! Good luck and take motrin!

You'll be fine! It was uncomfortable but not painful. I was told my tubes were blocked since the dye didn't spill out, but I guess the dye cleared me out because I got my BFP 2 weeks later!

Same here! The anticipation is far worse. It's uncomfortable but is over pretty quick. I got pregnant the next month!

I had no cramping or spotting from the HSG. I think people who find it painful often have blockages, etc.

To be honest, mine hurt. A LOT. I had terrible cramping for about a half hour afterwards and then it started to dissipate. But that was the cycle I got pg with DS so I'd have done it 100 times if I had to.

me too....i actually started to cry right before the HSG, which i think was a combo of the fear of pain and the fear of getting a bad result.
i had both tubes blocked due to endo and i didnt have any pain!

Best of luck today! Mine was not too bad either. Kinda painful when the dye went in, but it wasn't too bad and it only lasted for a second. Procedure was only a few minutes. I took 600mg ibuprofen one hour before and I think that helped.

I took dh and they let him come in the room with me. He just had to wear a radiation shield to cover "the boys" lol.

depends where you go, i went to LIJ and i had to go on alone, no one else was permitted in w me
